Ranking American Girl Dolls of the Year

 Hello friends! So my sister suggested for me to rank every american girl doll of the year so here I am. I am going to be ranking them in order from least favorite to favorite. Let's get started. 

This is Kira Bailey she is the girl of the year 2021. Okay so my thoughts, as I said in my review of her I find that she is a sort of copy cat of Lea Clark who is another American Girl doll of the year so we will be talking about her later but yeah that and I personal don't think she is the prettiest I defenitly do not think she is ugly she is just kind of meh looking to me. But I do really like some of her sets but I am mainly focusing on how the doll looks and her story and movie. I gave a whole discription on Kira in my review post of her so if you want to know more about Kira then you can go read that post if you haven't already. 

This is Gabriela McBride Girl of The Year 2017. Gabriela has a stutter, and is using spoken word poetry to help with the sutation along with speech therapy. She dances tap, hip hop and ballet. Gabriela often tries to work hard and impress others, even though she can be inscure about her stutter. She doesn't like backing down from her beliefs, and she tries to speak from the heart.  Okay so the reason why Gabriela is so low on the list is beacause I feel like she is a copy cat of Isabelle Palmer Girl of The Year 2014 in a way. Yes they do diffrent style dancing and have diffrent personalties but I feel like American Girl could have come up with diffrent and more uinquie dolls then just copying there other ideas. I also wasn't the biggest fan of her story or collection and like Kira has no movie. 

This is Joss Kendrick she is The Girl of The Year 2020. Joss is a surfer who has been surfing since she was six years old. Joss is sometimes impulsive and sometimes does not think before she acts, especially when her older brother Dylan eggs her on and she feels she must prove something to him. This can sometimes lead to her causing igures her getting herself ingured. Joss has hearing loss and is goof-footed but that does not stop her from aheving her goals. Even though I really like Joss's face mold and I think she is a cute doll  but she is a total copy cat of Kailey Hopkins Girl of The Year 2003 who was also a surfer girl. Joss does not have a movie.

Jess McConnell is Girl of The Year 2006. Jess McConnell is the ten year old daughter of two archelogists from Michigan. Her father is of Irish and Scottish decent and her mother is of Japense decent, although both sides of the family have lived in the USA for several generations. She goes to Belize on a dig with her parents. She is uninterseted in the actual archalogy work, although she loves to learn and imagne the lives of the Mayan people whose artifacts her parents are studying. Jess is fortunetlty not a copy cat of any of the Girl of The Year dolls which is good and she is a very pretty doll. I just never have had any particular intrest in her charecter. 

Lanie Holland is The Girl of The Year 2010. Lanie is a ten year old girl who lives in Cambridge, Massachusets. She enjoys science and nature. She dreams of becoming an expert scientest and exploring deep jungles in Asia. I think Lanie is a very pretty doll she just always seemed pretty boring to me and her story seemed like it didn't have enough drama or action in it like the other stories do.

This is Isabelle Palmer she is Girl of The Year 2015. Isabelle Palmer is a nine year old girl who lives in Washinton, DC. She loves to dance and perform ballet and modern dance. She is able to enroll in her dream school, Anna Hart School of The Arts, but Isabelle can't help but compare herself to the other dancers and often gets performance axitety. I think Isabelle is a very pretty doll and her collection is amazing but I think Isabelle is very annoying especially in the movie.

This is Marisol Luna she is the Girl of The Year 2005. Marisol Luna is a Latina girl. who lives in Pilsen which is a neighbrahood in Chicago, Illinos. She lives with her mother and father in a very Latino-influnced neighbrohood. She is very bitterly disapointed when they choose to move away from there neighbrohood to Des Plaines, a suburb. Not only will she be leaving her home, but er new neighbrohood does not have a dance studio for her to practice at. So my thoughts on Marisol. If I am being honest she is one of the only ones of the American Girl dolls of The Year that I did not know about so that's why she is a little lower on the list. But she is a cute doll and her clothes are pretty coll as well.

Grace Thomas is the Girl of The Year 2015. Grace Thomas lives in Bentwick, Massachusetts with her mom, dad, and older brother Josh. She loves to go to her grandparents bakery, Grace loves to bake and wants to start a business with her friends. I think Grace is an adorable doll so as far as look wise goes she is one of my favorites but since we are also counting her collection and movie as well as her story. How she lokks is really the only thing about grace I like.

This is Kailey Hopkins she is Girl of The Year 2003. Kailey is a ten year old girl who lives in Californa. She love the ocean and body surfing. She loves to visit the tide pools and go surfing with her best friend, Tess. She and her father also like to visit the resturant right off the beach. Her father paints landscapes for postcards and other similer to that, and her mother is a marine microbialogist. When she hears a new development is trying to remove the local tide pools, she works to try and save them in her own way.n I think Kailey is really cute and her story is pretty intresting but am not wild about her.

This is Luciana Vega she is the Girl of The Year 2018. Luciana is of Chilean descent. She aspires to be the first person to explore mars, and refers to herself as "The Future First Girl on Mars" She is very confident in herself and can be impulsive in alot of her desionsions such as dying a strand of her hair purple. The whole space them of Luciana is very cool but she doesn't really have a story it seems like, I mean she had a spaceship but in her story she never actually went to mars so that kind of confused me.

Chrissa Maxwell is the Girl of The Year 2009. Chrissa is a ten year old girl who lives with her father, her mother, her older brother Tyler, and her Nana. She has moved from Iowa to Edgewater, Minnasota to live with Nana following the death of her maternal grandfather and is starting at a new school. Her father Paul is a potter who makes dishware under Maxwell Pottery and her mother Meg is a doctor. Chrissa finds it hard to make friends at her new school, but Chrissa tries her best to be friendly. She later makes friends with Gwen Thompson and Sonali Matthews, but her friendship with them had a rough start. Chrissa is a good character but not my favorite. As this list goes on I will most likely have less dislikes about the dolls and more "Good but not my favorite"

This is Nicki Fleming she is the Girl of The Year 2007. Nicki Fleming is a 10 year old girl who lives outside of Denver, Colorado. She is the oldest daughter of her two parents; She has a younger brother Adam and her mom is expecting twins. Her family owns a ranch called the "Twilight Ranch" where they raise pigs for slaughter, they also keep there horses for pets. Nicki is an artist and skier. She is very resoponsible, compassionate girl. She loves her family and her dog. After she gets involved with gala and Sprocket, she wishes she could say no, but she can't. Nicki is a very cute doll. She is also is a little bit like me.

This is Mckenna Brooks she is the Girl of The Year 2012. Mckenna is ten years old and in the fourth grade who lives on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington. She is skilled at gymnastics but struggles with schoolwork, spisficly reading comprehenshn. Mckenna is a very pretty doll. But her character was annoying spisficly in the movie. 

Lindsey Bergman is the very first Girl of The Year she was released in 2001. Lindsey Bergman just wants to help out and fix things. She tries to stop the Pet Parade, help two teachers fall in love, cheer up her uncle, and help out with her brother's miztvah. She learns that there is more than one way to make a diffirence. Lindsey is funny and good hearted, she also is gets in trouble quite often. I really love Lindsey's personality, she seems sweet and very kind. She is also a very pretty doll but her sense of style is not very good which kind of ruins her collection for me. But hey this was there very first Girl of The Year so you have to give them some credit.

Kanani Akina is the Girl of The Year 2011. Kanani loves to help out at her family's store and share the wonders of Hawaii with visitors. When her chic cousin Rachel comes to stay fro a month, Kanani can't wait to get to know her cousin and help Rachel feel at home. But a clash of cultures ensures, Kanani feels ignored. I read Kanani's book a few years ago and I enjoyed it. But her doll is absolutly beautiful. 

Lea Clark is the Girl of The Year 2016. Lea lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her mom and dad. She has an older brother named Zac and she also has a pet turtle named Ginger. Lea loves to take photos, and she also loves to explore nature and wild life. Lea is one of my top favorites she is such a pretty doll and her movie and story has a lot of action and adventure.

Third Favorite GOTY

This is Saige Copeland  she is the Girl of The Year 2013. Saige is a ten year old girl who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has a passion for art, a passion she shares with her grandmother Mimi. Saige is devastated when she finds out fourth grade will not be having art class and she strives to do something about it. Saige is one of my favorite Girl of The Year dolls she is so pretty and her story is very intrested.

Second Favorite GOTY

This is Blaire Wilson is the Girl of The Year 2019. Blaire is ten years old and lives on Pleasant View Farm Bed-And-Breakfast. She is very creative, reasponsible, and hard working. and is good at improvising soultions to the unique problems that can arise on her farm. She loves her family even if she does sometimes find her brother annoying, and she loves and cares for the animals on the farm - such as Penelope the lamb, Dash the goat, and Dandoline the chicken. Her favorite thing to do is help her mom cook meals for the guests. I really love Blaire mainly beacause she is so pretty but her story is great to.

First Favorite GOTY

This is Mia St. Clair she is the Girl of The Year 2008. Mia struggles through adjusting to the new skating style. She is very determind, although often teased buy her brothers about figure skating. She really inspires people to do things. I really love Mia beacause: (A  She looks a lot like me except she has straight hair and I have curly hair. (B Her collection and her doll are gorgous. (C and lastly beacause her story seems really intresting.
